Venues In San Diego For This Summer Events



Here is an overview of the new restaurants, bars, hotels, conference rooms, private rooms and other spaces available for events in San Diego this summer. San Diego’s new and renovated locations are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, open-air receptions, business lunches, team building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.

Hotel de la Plage Sainte-Maxime

The upscale Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas opened in March in a beautiful location, marking the 16th worldwide location of this eco-friendly resort. The oceanfront hotel offers 130 luxurious rooms and suites that include high-coffee and tea service, durable beech wood bed sheets, and other upscale amenities. Most rooms have a balcony or terrace, and many even have private fireplaces. It features an oceanfront pool, a popular culinary program, and the tranquil Alila spa, as well as nearly 28,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Reservable areas include the 3,800-square-foot Oceana Ballroom for 360 people in rounds and 500 for cocktails, a 1,540-square-foot terrace for 140 people, and a 420-square-foot private dining room for 36 seated meals.

Callie

The East Village hosted Callie, a Mediterranean restaurant run by a chef, in the neighborhood in June. The elegant place presents artistic elements such as tiled and textured walls, among others. Callie can accommodate up to 310 people for cocktail shopping or 144 people for seated events. For small groups, there is a private dining room (pictured here), which offers a subtle look into the kitchen and offers a communal table for up to 18 people. Events in this area include a five-course meal from the chef, served as a family and tailored to the nutritional preferences of your guests.

The Shop: Pizza + Cocktails

The shop: Pizza + Cocktails opened in Rancho Bernardo at the end of 2020. While the restaurant specialises in deep dishes and traditional pizzas, as well as elegantly creative cocktails, the menu also includes hearty salads, Italian sandwiches and an extensive wine list. The 3,000-square-meter, family-run restaurant offers several function rooms. The outdoor terrace can accommodate 50 people, the back of the restaurant 24 people, the front seats 32 and the buybacks can accommodate up to 60 people.

Spa & Wellness Centre

Located on 200 acres in Carlsbad, Park Hyatt Aviara. The 327 rooms and suites offer a variety of amenities, from private outdoor terraces to marble bathtubs. The complex has more than 200,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event spaces of all sizes, from meeting rooms to a ballroom to outdoor terraces. The 500 square meter staircase, for example, opens onto a 400 square meter private terrace; the 2,260-square-foot outdoor fountain terrace overlooks the coast and garden; and the Large 11,700-square-foot Ballroom has a 3,480-square-foot pre-function space. Elsewhere on the property, guests can enjoy six restaurants and sup, an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course, a water park with a two-story slide, an mature pool with private cabins, and a spa, among other notable amenities.

Basement Bar

Original cocktails and fine wines are on the menu at understory bar, which opened in July at the brand new Sky Deck in Del Mar. The open-air lounge bar is adorned with forest-inspired accents, such as elegant greenery, tree-trunk tables, and support beams that branch out to the ceiling. The bar here focuses heavily on handmade cocktails worthy of Instagram; the menu devotes a complete page to each, including exquisite illustrations and full lists of unexpected ingredients. In total, the 2,400-square-foot outpost offers cocktails for up to 115 guests.

The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park

In August, the magnificent Rady Shell at Jacobs Park opens its doors for its first season. The sprawling venue seats up to 8,000 guests and offers panoramic ocean and city views, and event rental is coordinated by the San Diego Symphony and Petco Park Events. Planners can incorporate the 13,000-square-foot covered stage, back-of-house facilities, state-of-the-art production capabilities, and Chef Richard Blais ‘ local menus into their gatherings.

The Monsaraz San Diego, collection of tapestries by Hilton

The first new hotel in Point Loma in more than a decade, Monsaraz San Diego, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, opened in June. The 92-room boutique hotel features mid-century modern furniture, attractive artwork, movable desks in the bedroom, and other thoughtful touches that create a welcoming atmosphere. A 4,000-square-foot courtyard-with a living tree and a living wall-is a striking centerpiece of the hotel’s design. For groups, the hotel offers two special meeting rooms with a total area of 4,752 square meters. Planners can also welcome guests to the 60-seat Westerly Public House, which serves a unique blend of Cali-Australian cuisine, while the third-floor retreat is an ideal destination for group cocktails.

Hotel Hyatt Regency La Jolla in Aventine

Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine unveiled. All common areas, 400 rooms and 16 suites now have a fresh aesthetic that is both casual and stylized, just like SoCal itself. Highlights include a library overlooking San Diego, a multi-functional lounge in the lobby, a heated outdoor pool with cabins, and two tennis courts. Twenty-six meeting rooms offer a total of 42,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space, including the 11,800 square foot Regency Ballroom and the 5,850 square foot Glazed La Jolla Ballroom.
